Busy In The Kitchen

One life skill that we want to develop in our homeschoolers is knowing how to work in the kitchen. they need to learn how to feed themselves, not with junk foods or instant ones but fresh and healthy foods.

This first month of the year, the children get busy themselves learning how to bake and cook by themselves. Here are the pictures from last weeks' class:

Oatmeal Cookies For Snacks

They searched from the internet for the easiest recipe of oatmeal cookies. They're excited to start baking, following meticulously the measurement.

The waiting wasn't long....soon they enjoyed a tasty snack! They made 30 pieces of big oatmeal cookies!

White Spaghetti for Lunch

The girls sliced the button mushrooms, and the boys did the mincing of garlic and onions.

They sauteed one can of tuna flakes and added some spices. Then added one can of mushroom soup and evaporated milk. When sauce was done, they sprinkled the grated cheese. And poured it over cooked pasta.
The Sneaky Chef: Simple Strategies for Hiding Healthy Foods in Kids' Favorite Meals

They had to hide the cheese because Zoe doesn't want to know that there's a cheese in her food. "I'm not a mouse!" She would say.
